Book Review: Tracks by Robyn Davidson
This review has been sitting in my draft pile for years now. I have been reluctant to review because then it would mean the book was actually over and I lived this book so much more than any other I have read.
This is the story of one young woman’s journey from central Australia to the Indian Ocean with her own small herd of camel. To be honest I don’t think the concept of it is particularily fascinating, and I have tried to suggest this book (and the film) to friends but can’t seem to convince them on why they should read it.
Maybe the book just resonated with me at that particular time of my life, I did read it near on 5 years ago now. Where does time go!??!!?
Anyways, a memorable quote:
“The two important things that I did learn were that you are as powerful and strong as you allow yourself to be, and that the most difficult part of any endeavour is taking the first step, making the first decision.”
